2015 Dodge Grand Caravan:
Asked before about a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. Her Fobik remote did not work one day, then started working again. She is concerned. Is there an explanation or is this a fluke? She was asking if she should submit it under warranty. Thoughts??
Suggestion - I have not heard of this happening before. For customer satisfaction, I would go ahead and replace the remote. The last thing we want is for a customer to get stranded somewhere and for it to be our remote’s fault. Replace the remote and send the faulty remote back as defective
-
Dodge Dakota 2008:
Couldn't program SKCDJKEY 090 or 030. It doesn’t have a chip so it was turning the car but the remote didn’t program (buttons), so I made a CDJ 700 at the end.
Suggestion - To program a non-transponder remote head key, you will need to read the PIN code and go under “Program Remotes”. This is different from other CDJ combos where you would go under “add key”. You should be able to use both the CDJ 090 or 030 for this but the CDJ KEY 050 COMBO is the CDJ combo that doesn’t have a transponder integrated into the circuit board.

2018+ CDJ keys:
Unable to program any keys. The current temporary SmartPro is unable to load the programming software. I was on the phone with AD yesterday and did all the troubleshooting we could, but didn’t get a resolution. It is not an issue with the star connector cable. They are referring me to their engineering team who will be in touch on Monday.
Suggestion - What error message are you getting? Perform a recovery on your SmartPro and reload all software. Call AD back after an update so their RnD team can look at your logs

2001 DODGE RAM:
CDJ 500 - vehicle would not take any cdj remotes. verified RKE compatibility and there were older remotes saved in memory. tried all remote types and vehicle types in year range, tried all older cdj remotes, did a battery reset, tried ck 100 and had no luck. wasn't able to do the manual procedure since the customer did not have a working remote. refunded special order.
Suggestion - CDJ 610 would be the correct remote for this vehicle but a CDJ 500 may work as well. Try going by system “Remote - Type 5”
-
Chrysler Town and Country:
could not program Sk fob or CDJ Fobik. Smart pro not id-ing the vehicle.
Suggestion - Possible issue with your OBD cable. Before ordering another cable, update all software via AD Loader (not through the SmartPros WiFi). If the issue persists after the software update, there is an issue with the OBD cable.

Dodge Durango, 2008:
CDJ key 030 combos. Her key did have a transponder. The fccid matched. Could get the key to work but not fob. Found out after that this used to be a police vehicle. Is that a reason why I was unable to program the fob?
Suggestion - Police vehicles can cause issues in programming. I have more experience with Ford police vehicle and the standard OBP programming on those does not work. Does the customer’s original remote work? If not, there might be an issue with the vehicle. If the original does work and the SmartPro pulls the pincode/programs the transponder, it would lead me to believe that the key that is being programmed might be defective. Try another CDJ KEY 030 COMBO or CDJ KEY 090 COMBO as it should work in place of a 030.

2015 Dodge Ram 1500:
I COULDN'T GET ANY FOBIK KEY TO PAIR WITH A 2015 DODGE RAM 1500. I HAVE BEEN TOLD SINCE TRAINING THAT IF AN UNPROGRAMMED FOBIK LIGHTS UP THE DASH IT IS THEREFORE PROGRAMMABLE. IF THE UNPROGRAMMED FOBIK DOESN'T ACTIVATE THE DASH THEN A PROMPT ON THE DASH SAYS "WRONG KEY". IS THIS ALWAYS A DEALBREAKER?
Suggestion - Yes, this is true on FOBIK keys. If you turn a FOBIK key in the ignition to on and the dash lights do not come on, the chip is locked and will not program
-
2016 jeep grand Cherokee:
fob would not program tried 790 fobik 791 fobik skfob795
Suggestion - The vehicle would have been a Cherokee not a Grand Cherokee if it took a FOBIK. If the wrong software was used that could be the cause of the issue. Also, this vehicle would have taken a 790.5 or 791.5. 790/791 will not work for this vehicle.
-
2005 Chrysler Pacifica:
Unable to program key: Chrysler Pacifica’05 (SK CDJ 060 combo). The customer got pin codes from the dealership and smart pro would say key success after programming. But key would not work and remote wouldn’t program.
Suggestion - Check to see if the vehicle has reached the maximum number of keys programmed. The maximum number of transponder keys is 8. If the limit is reached you must delete keys first before you can add any new keys in.
-
2018 Dodge Charger:
unable to program cars: Dodge Charger 2018 CDJ 253 SMARTKEY car would not go into programming mode. Connected to star connector behind the glove box and in the trunk. Missed $200 sale
Suggestion - perform battery reset on the vehicle (disconnect the vehicle battery for at least 5 mins). The issue should be resolved
-
Jeep Wrangler 2020:
On the jeep Wrangler cdj 303 flip, we put it in Gymkana, it said it needed a V Jaw. We laid it in the 303 and it was too short. Would we have been able to cut it in 303? The concern is how the cut at the end flares out the cutter would run into the wall.
Suggestion - You can cut these keys with the 303. The flares are called “shoulder stops”, for this style of key you’ll use the shoulder stops for placement in the jaw (see picture below). The Gymkana does need the V jaw to cut this style of key.
-
2005 Chrysler 300:
Unable to program key: Chrysler 300 2005 CDJ KEY 700 went back for a refund, called Advance Diagnosis and they said the chips were locked on my keys. I tried 7 different CDJ KEY 700's chips and none of them worked.
Suggestion - I spot-checked a number of our CDJ KEY 700, all of the chips were reading as unlocked. Do you have a chip reader to verify they are CDJ KEY 700 and not CDJ KEY 500. Both keys look very similar but have different chips.
-
2008 Jeep Wrangler:
SK CDJ 090 - tried multiple times. Ended up programming a SK CDJ 052.
Suggestion - Both keys (052 and 090) have the same transponder and are interchangeable. Most likely defective 090
-
2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee:
could not program. Kept getting an "invalid Pincode" error message on smart pro. Had the smart pro connected on the passenger side through the star connector? Tried multiple attempts and dropped it in the group chat but could not get it to work.
Suggestion - Reset the battery on the Jeep by disconnecting it for 5 minutes and then reconnecting it. Once this is done you will be able to pull the pin code.
-
2006 DODGE DAKOTA:
SK CDJ KEY 090 COMBO - transponder did not require programming. unable to program fob. tried every fob I had available and tried ck 100 as well, but wasn't able to get anything to take.
Suggestion - The CDJ KEY 090 COMBO or CDJ KEY 050 COMBO should both work for this vehicle. When programming this key you do need to go under program remote and will need a PIN code for programming.
-
Ram 1500 2014:
"Unable to store key" was my error tried 4 different fobs, reset the SK's but nothing worked.
Suggestion - How many keys were programmed to the vehicle? The vehicle could already have the maximum number of keys programmed. This vehicle takes a CDJ 790/791
-
Chrysler 200 2015:
CDJ 253.5 would not program to the vehicle, reordered as a special order.
Suggestion - 2015 Chrysler 200, make sure all electronic devices are outside and away from the vehicle (including cell phone) as they can create interference. Replace the battery inside the remote you are trying to program as well. These are known to be tricky so be persistent and the key should be program but may take a few attempts
-
2005 DODGE DAKOTA:
CDJ KEY 030 FOBIK - transponder does not require programming and remote programs separately. remotes would not take. tried every fccid I had available.
Suggestion - The CDJ KEY 090 COMBO or CDJ KEY 050 COMBO should both work for this vehicle. When programming this key you do need to go under program remote and will need a PIN code for programming.
-
2018 Dodge Ram:
Tried SK FOB 790 and then the CDJ version and both read as an error. Refund.
Suggestion - 2018 RAM, where are you getting the error? The 790 is the correct key for this vehicle and to have a bad SK and OE seems unlikely. If you are getting PIN read error, disconnect the vehicle’s battery for 5 mins and try again.
