  • Ford Fiesta 2019:

    • Unable to program key:  Used cert for key 041. I was unable to get the key to the program into the car. I tried hooking up the smart pro to Wi-Fi and was still unsuccessful.

    • Suggestion - How many keys were programmed to the vehicle? If 8 keys are already programmed, you will need to erase keys to add another.  If less than 8 keys are programmed, go under 2014-2018 Fiesta and attempt programming.  If still unsuccessful, try another key.

  • 2014 Ford Explorer:

    • SKU for key: SK FOR KEY 030 COMBO. What happened – Key went through the entire timed access and would not start the car when asked to cycle the keys. Smartpro would not identify the vehicle.

    • Suggestion - if adding keys doesn’t work, it may be necessary to erase keys then program.  This may be required even when the maximum number of keys hasn’t been reached.  Note - before erasing the key you need to inform the customer that any keys not there will no longer work.

  • 2004 Mercury Grand Maquis:

    • Unable to program key. SKU for key FORKEY600 What happened – error message on smart PRO: using 2003-2004 immobilizer would go Into timed access and say security access denied, PGM. Tried the 2005-2011 immobilizer and it said start comms failed

    • Suggestion - Turn ignition to ON before plugging SmartPro into OBD port and continue the programming procedure.  If issue persists, ensure good battery voltage on the vehicle and update Ford software on SmartPro.

  • 1999 Ford Mustang:

    • FOR KEY 500 would not program. Key cut perfectly, chip would not read

    • Suggestion -  Possibly bad key? Would the chip not read in the chip tester?  Was another key tested?  Need more information to advise resolution

  • 2018 Transit:

    • I couldn’t make a for 041 combo/031 combo program to a 2018 transit It would enter a manual process for remotes but nothing would take.

    • Suggestion -  Could this have been a Transit Connect? If so the vehicle may not have taken a transponder key.  Did the tech try to start the vehicle?

  • Ford F 150 2021:

    •  for 405 oemflip Security acc ss failed.   Tried multiple truck types end engine types.  Tried to manually program fob thinking we could clone chip.v nothing worked

    • Suggestion - 2021 F-150 is not covered by the SmartPro (or any third-party programmer) at this time.  Currently, OEM Ford software is the only thing capable of programming these vehicles.

  • 2013 Ford f150:

    •  sk for 030.  2 of them would not program.  We even moved the chips forward on both of them. Didn't help.  The third one worked.   Is there a way to not have to go through the 10 minute security bypass on each attempt?

    • Suggestion - If the customer has 2 currently programmed keys you can get past the 10 minute security bypass by using the OBP method (link to the process below).   Otherwise you will have to go through the 10 minute security bypass each attempt.

  • 2014 FORD F150:

    • CERT FOR KEY 030 COMBO - RKE not functioning properly on customers truck. Key programmed but fob would not work. Tried programming Sk’s and the vehicle would go into programming mode, but fobs wouldn’t register. Checked fuses, but everything was good. Not sure if the cause. Gave customer refund.

    • Suggestion - Does the RKE functions work on the customer’s original RHK?  CERT FOR Combos will program in at the same time as the transponder and RKE functions can not be OBP’d. If the batteries were good in all of the remotes, the vehicle may have an issue which is preventing programming.

  • 2013 Ford f150:

    •  tried 3 times with 3 different sk 030's every time ready successful but locks wouldn't cycle to signal success nor did the keys programmed increase after programming. Not sure what exactly was causing the issue.

    • Suggestion - Known issue with our SK FOR KEY 030 COMBO that is being looked into by our RnD team.  You may have better success taking the chip out of a FOR KEY 600 and put inside a SK FOR KEY 030 COMBO

  • 2014 Ford Escape:

    • I've programmed now 3 different for 250 smartkeys on a 2014 ford escape and they program in fine but there is always a message up on the dash saying low key fob battery. I've tested the battery and it is new and replaced them and still doing the same thing. If I only have their key in the car then there is no message. I program a sk for 250 smartkey and there is no message on the car. I think i also had the same problem with a for 251 smartkey.

    • Suggestion - You can try a battery reset on the vehicle to see if that clears the message.  If that doesn’t work the keys may have a defect and should be sent back with returns.

  • 2004 Ford Expedition:

    • When i tried to program a ford expedition 2004 it said the primary key was a for key 500. that's incorrect, used literally 3 keys cuz I thought it was a bad trip. but then we figured out it the proper key was in the second category and it should have been a for key 600. as soon as we got that figured out the key programmed no problem like I was supposed to from the begging. the whole process took 30~40 min. can you guys please fix that. that would be most appreciated.

    • Suggestion - Compatibility has been updated.  Be sure to use your chip tester and confirm the correct chip before cutting keys.  Many makes/models will have split years where 2 different transponders are possible.  Checking the transponder first will save time and decrease the likelihood of cutting a wrong key.

  • 2009 Ford Flex:

    • also, i went to program a ford flex 2009 and the cert for key 030 and yerik said those keys have been giving people a hard time. it aslo did for me as well too. the sk cert worked perfect. that was another one that took a bit for me to figure out why it wasnt working. if we can move the sk cert 030 as primary instead as well to. that would be amazing and well appreciated.

    • Suggestion - Both the CERT FOR KEY 030 COMBO and SK FOR KEY 030 COMBO are listed as primary.  We are not currently aware of any issues with the CERT FOR KEY 030 COMBO, what is the issue you are having with this SKU?  We are currently looking into reported issues with the transponder chips in our SK FOR 030 COMBO.  If you have any of either of these SKUs that will not program please send them back with your returns.

  • 2 cert for key 040 combo's cut but wouldn't program.  The cases were glued shut or something otherwise I could have just changed the chip without cutting 2 keys and sending the back.  I ended up using a sk version and it worked fine.

    • Suggestion - On CERT FOR COMBOs you can not change the chip as they are integrated into the circuit board with the remote.  CERT 040 combos that won’t program are exceedingly rare.

  • 2011 FORD F150:

    •  SK FOR KEY 045 COMBO. Got new cable in today and were able to do several smart key fords that we were waiting on from the last two days, but we still had issues with ford combo keys.  Everything is updated and we used the new cable, but both sk 040 and 045 were still failing to program.  i swapped out the chip from a for key 600 into one of our other ford combo key sales today and then the key programmed, so I think we most likely had a bad batch of sk combo keys since we've had 4 combo keys from the most recent shipment not work this week.  This customer did not want to wait for us to swap out chips and try again so we refunded.

    • Suggestion - If you are able to connect to the vehicle and it goes through the security bypass, the SmartPro is functioning properly and that does point to the combo keys being the issue.  I believe our RnD team are currently looking into Ford combo key issue now.
