Yes it absolutely can cause issues with programming with this device or any programming device. Aftermarket equipment generally leads to alterations of original equipment installed by the manufacturer and can also lead to alterations in programming in some cases. These combined can lead to issues that you can not predict going into key/remote programming. We STRONGLY do not recommend using this device if you have any of the following installed on your vehicle:
- Aftermarket Alarm/Security System
- Aftermarket Remote Start System
- Aftermarket Tuning/Performance device
- Aftermarket Radio/Stereo
- ANY device installed that alters the vehicles performance/security/functional operations
