    • Do NOT use smart pro for smart keys and transponder keys.

    • ONLY use the smart pro for separate remotes.

      • Up to 2016 models

        •  – transponder keys – 

          • Use the original key first, turn it on and wait till immobilizer light goes away, put new key in and wait till immobilizer light goes away. Remove the key, start the car with each to confirm.

      • All GMs 2017 and up is 30 min procedure 

        • Keys: start with a new key and turn it on, wait 10 minutes, when the security light turns off.

          • Turn off and on

          • Wait another 10 minutes

          • Repeat one more time, off and on.

        • At the 30th minute, turn off, take out the key and put back in, turn on. After 5 seconds put the old key in and turn it on

          • the Instrument cluster should say “2 Keys Programmed”. 

          • *If they have two keys, Crank the car with both old ones, then Crank the car with a new key*

        • Smart Keys(push start) - Test the proximity slot. Remove the battery from the key and make sure the car starts without the battery in the original key. If it starts proceed to next step 

          • Take the emergency key, put it in the door and unlock it five times (counter clockwise). Car will go into programming mode. Instrument cluster should say “Remote Learn Pending”. Set a timer for 10 minutes. 

          • After ten mins Instrument cluster should say “Press Push button”. Follow the prompt and set a timer for another 10 mins. 

          • Repeat 1 more time. (follow prompt)

          • After the 30th min Instrument cluster will say “Ready For Remote 1” Put customers key in the slot, press push button. Instrument cluster should say “Ready For Remote 2”, put the new key in the slot and press the push button. Test both fobs. If both work, press and hold the push button for 20 seconds to exit programming mode. 

        • ****For 2017 and up if you have 2 programmed keys you can bypass the 30 min process. ****

        • In 2017 and below  it takes 5 minutes to do. Put the original fob in the slot and use the emergency key on the door. Turn it 5 times counterclockwise. It will say “Ready For Remote 3”. Put a new key in the slot and press the push button once. It will say “Ready For Remote 4”. Test the both keys by locking and unlocking the fob. Once programmed, press and hold the push button for 20 seconds to exit programming mode.
