Note: Adding Gm Basic Transponder Keys Must Have A Working Key (Manual Procedure)

  1. Insert a master/working key and switch the ignition on.
  2. Wait for the security/immobilizer light to go out.
  3. Switch the ignition off and remove the key.
  4. Quickly insert an UN-paired key and switch the ignition on. Wait for the security/immobilizer light to go out.
  5. Switch the ignition off and remove the key.
  6. The key is now paired.

Note: Adding Gm Basic Transponder Keys All Keys Lost (Manual Procedure)

  1. Switch the ignition on with the UN-paired master key.
  2. The security/immobilizer light or a message will come on the dash.
  3. After approximately 10 minutes the security/immobilizer light or a message will go out.
  4. switch the ignition off.
  5. Wait 5 seconds.
  6. Switch the ignition back on with the same UN-paired master key. The security/immobilizer light or a message will come on the dash.
  7. After approximately 10 minutes the security/immobilizer light or a message will go out.
  8. Turn the ignition off.
  9. Wait 5 seconds.
  10. Switch the ignition back on with the same UN-paired master key.
  11. The security/immobilizer light or a message will show on the dash.
  12. After approximately 10 minutes the security/immobilizer light or a message will go out.
  13. Turn the ignition off.
  14. Wait 5 seconds.
  15. Try and start the vehicle it will now start with no light/message on the dash.
  16. The key is paired.
