Locating the OBD Port for use with the programmer

The OBD (On board diagnostic) port is generally located under the steering wheel column. There are a few vehicles where it is located on the passenger side glove box area as well. Generally, it is placed well underneath the column so it does not get hit or kicked by accident. There are some vehicles that will locate it behind a small door or cubby. It can point out towards the driver like in the picture below or it can also face down in a vertical position. The OBD port is what powers the device and provides the programming functionality.
