NASTF SDRM 2.0 INFORMATION SHEET
Authorization Requirements
With the launch of the new SDRM portal we now have to alter the way we do D1 Authorizations. Simply having a signed invoice will no longer suffice.
When does a D1 Authorization need to be completed in SDRM 2.0?
● Fill out the D1 Authorization form in the SDRM 2.0 portal for EVERY transaction using your LSID.
○ You have 5 days to complete the D1 and associate it with an OEM transaction.
○ SDRM will automatically pair OEM transaction to D1 with the same VIN
Dealership/Auction Customers
● Use the Auction Authorization form for all dealership and auction customers.
● Vehicle Owner/Customer Information = Dealer or Auction business name, phone number, address.
● Upload picture of signed invoice for supporting document
Repo Customers
● Use Auction Authorization
● When servicing a repo company you are required to upload an Authorizing Document to the D1.
○ This document should be the Repossession Form authorizing the repo company to repossess the vehicle.
■ This form will contain the vehicle information (VIN, Make, Model, Etc.), as well as the vehicle owner information.
■ Prior to uploading the document to SDRM 2.0 you MUST redact all owner information. Meaning, the information must be blacked out and not visible.
○ A blanket authorization from the repo company is acceptable.
Walk-up Customers
● Use the Customer Authorization for all walk up customer transactions in which you used your LSID.
● You should do this on your phone so the customer can sign the form.
○ You can begin the D1 on your laptop, save, then complete with the customer on your phone.
● If you are servicing a walk up customer you must verify their ID matches their registration and complete the D1 form prior to performing any work.
● If you are in an area without internet connectivity, you can download the D1 Authorization form, complete it, have the customer sign it, and upload to theD1 as an Authorizing Document.
● VSP must e-sign also.
We are waiting on NASTF to complete the API that will allow Internal to talk to SDRM 2.0 and transfer authorization info automatically for dealership customers. I do not have an ETA on that. So, we have to do the manual process in the meantime.
