How do I test the frequency on my remote?

PLEASE NOTE: You must have a functioning remote with a good battery to test for frequency!

This can be done in the car OR in the shop

Step 1a: IF AT THE CAR, Connect SmartBox tablet to the SmartBox Programmer by Micro USB. Connect OBD cable to SmartBox Programmer.

Step 2a: IF AT THE CAR, Most vehicles use a standard OBD2 connection which can be found generally underneath the driver side dash and looks something like this image.

Step 1b: IF IN THE SHOP, Connect SmartBox tablet to the SmartBox Programmer by Micro USB. Connect the SmartBox Programmer to a wall outlet through the “Power” port by Old Style Micro USB.

Step 2b: IF IN THE SHOP, Now, plug your SmartBox into a power source to power up.

Step 3: Login to your account.

Step 4: From the HOME screen, press the “Frequency Test” Button

Step 5: Place Remote near frequency testing area.

Step 6: Press each button on the remote to ensure that it is transmitting a signal.

Step 7: If the remote is sending a signal it will display the MHZ and the signal symbol will go GREEN and read “Signal Received”
