Purpose:
Provide Account Managers a process for purchasing OEM key codes and/or subscriptions from OEM
websites.
Scope:
Before filling out a D1 form and purchasing a key code and/or subscription from an OEM website, the
following form on Internal must be filled out and submitted.
This form will provide Tech Ops the information needed to check key code purchases against Account
Manager credit card transactions, ensuring only authorized code purchases that could not be gained
through other methods such as using a Lishi or removing the lock cylinder are purchased.
Procedural Steps:
1. Cross-check the Vehicle Exceptions List verifying that the vehicle key code can’t be gained
through other methods such as a Lishi Tool or removing the lock cylinder.
2. Go to the OEM Key Code Purchase Authorization page in Internal
a. Internal
b. Car Keys Express
c. PIN and Key Codes
d. OEM Key Code Purchase Authorization
3. Fill out the Authorization form
a. Check that you have read the SOP
b. Check the reason you need to purchase an OEM keycode
i. The vehicle is on the Exception List
ii. Must Purchase PIN code
iii. Other (note your reason in the comment box provided)
1. If purchasing a 2 day OEM subscription (ex: Toyota), check “Other” and
note “Toyota Subscription” in the comment box.
c. Provide vehicle information
i. Make
ii. Model
iii. Year
iv. VIN
d. If the vehicle needs to be added to the Vehicle Exception List for future use, please check
that box and note the reason why in the comments section.
4. Click Submit
5. Proceed as usual to filling out a D1 form and purchasing your vehicle’s key code and/or
subscription from the OEM website.
