Screen Cleaning/Touchscreen Handling
This device is often located near or adjacent to an automotive or mechanical shop. These locations may generate substances (automotive grease, cleaners, oil, etc) that can degrade the touch screen functionality of the device over time. Additionally, regular use will cause oil/dirt to build up on the screen from customers and/or employees.
IMPORTANT – Follow these steps to keep your product clean and functioning at its best:
- Unplug all external power sources, devices, and cables before cleaning.
- Keep liquids away from the product, unless otherwise noted for specific products.
- Don't get moisture into any openings.
- Don't use aerosol sprays, bleaches, or abrasives (including cleaners such as Windex, Lysol etc).
- Don't spray cleaners directly onto the screen.
- Do not use used shop gloves or unclean hands when operating the touchscreen.
- Using only a soft, lint-free cloth, clean the screen at least twice monthly. Avoid abrasive cloths, towels, paper towels, or similar items. In the event of heavy build up or contact with difficult to wipe off substances (i.e. grease, lubricants, sticky substances, oil, etc.) use of alcohol wipes is OK. Overuse of alcohol wipes on the screen may cause damage to the touch screen. Avoid excessive wiping, which may also cause damage.
Climate Control/Airflow Requirements
This device requires a climate controlled environment (e.g., a waiting room, sales floor, etc.) so that it can maintain the required internal temperature and prolong the device’s lifetime.
- Provide enough space between it and other objects so that there is proper airflow. In other words, do not box the machine in around other objects.
- Occasionally use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe any ventilation grating on the device if near an environment that may include dust or debris.
- If possible use a can of compressed air to clean the ventilation grates on the box.
